In 1980, the movie "Cannibal Holocaust" was released to theatres. The story in itself is quite simple, a TV filmmaker team is going to south-America to make a documentary about cannibals tribes, but they never returned. A few month later, a search team is sent to find them out, but only find the footage of the movie.

The movie was banned in a lot of country because of the violence and pornography, while in fact the goal of the movie was to show how far violence and pornography can be very common for us nowadays and shown everyday on TV.

Along this movie, the score is really important. And in a quite surprising manner, Riz Ortolani produced a very peaceful and beautiful soundtrack. With lots of strings and synths. Very far from the common "horror" movies soundtracks.

En 1980, le film "Cannibal Holocaust" est sorti en salles. L’histoire en elle même est assez simple, une équipe de télévision se rend en Amérique du sud afin de faire un documentaire sur des tribus cannibales, mais ils n’en sont jamais revenu. Quelques mois plus tard, une équipe de recherche est envoyée pour les retrouver, mais ils ne retrouvent que les enregistrements vidéo du film.

Le film a été banni dans un grand nombre de pays à cause de sa violence et de la pornographie, alors qu’en réalité le but même du film était de montrer à quel point la violence et la pornographie pouvaient devenirs très commun pour nous de nos jours et montré à la télévision quotidiennement.

Tout le long du film, la bande originale est vraiment importante. Et d’une manière surprenante, Riz Ortolani a produit une musique très apaisante et belle. Avec beaucoup de violons et synthétiseurs. Très éloigné des bandes sons classiques des films "d’horreurs".

Pas grand choses à dire sur ce titre disco. Produit par John Ferrara, sorti en 1979, il fut un énorme tube disco cette année là.

In June 2004, I’ve been to a small electro gig in Brussels at the
club "Magasin 4". There were two artists from the famous German label
Kommando 6, Codes and TecRoc. It was a really great gig but the big
surprise for me was to discover this crazy guy: Bogusman.

He
played last, starting his live at 5am when people were already quite
tired with the great sound they heard before, but something incredible
happened. His electro-punk sound was so fat, dirty and fast, he woke up
and got everyone crazy. One hour later, the managers of the Magasin 4
asked him to stop the sound while the crowd was begging for more!

Maybe
one of the best live act I seen. Too bad he hasn’t released more
records, only one EP on the French label Fdb Recordings in 2003. As far
as I know he prefers to play live in various places in Belgium.

En juin 2004, j’ai assisté à une petite soirée électro à Bruxelles
au club "Magasin 4". Il y avait deux artistes du célèbre label allemand

Il a joué en dernier, débutant son live à 5
heure du matin quand les gens étaient déjà bien fatigués par tout le
bon son qu’ils ont eu avant, mais quelque chose d’incroyable eu lieu.
Son son electro-punk était si lourd, sale et rapide, il a réveillé et
rendu fou tout le monde. Une heure après, les gérants du Magasin 4 lui
ont demandé de couper le son alors que le public en réclamait plus !

Peut
être un des meilleurs live que j’ai vu. Dommage qu’il n’a pas sorti
plus de disques, uniquement un EP sur le label français Fdb Recordings
en 2003. Autant que je sache, il préfère jouer en live dans divers
lieux en Belgique.

Edward Upton, most known as Ed DMX or DMX Krew, is one of the most prolific and brilliant electro producer of the United Kingdom. Manager of the label "Breakin’ Records", he produces a fast and dynamic electro sounds and he released numerous EP on labels such as Aphex Twin’s Rephlex or DJ Hell’s Gigolo Records.

Here is a surprising track, taken from the "Knight Ryder" EP released in 1998 on Devon Records (a Breakin’ Records sub-label) under the nickname "Michael Knight". As you may have guessed, the music is an electro cover of the theme of the TV Show "Knight Rider".
